Sophie Chaudhary denies relationship with Peter Andre

Singer-actress Sophie Chaudhary struck an instant camaraderie with Australian singer Peter Andre at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards, but denies any romantic involvement with him. "Peter was sweet and a thorough gentleman. We spoke about music, London, Bollywood and his new album. I am a singer and in future we may collaborate but I don't want people to put two and two together and come to wrong conclusions. However much contemporary I appear on screen but I am an Indian girl at heart. I will never date a married man, " Sophie said. While Sophie hosted the IIFA fashion extravaganza in Macau earlier this month, Andre had especially flown to the Chinese town to perform at the event. On the very first day of the IIFA weekend, Sophie initiated conversation with Andre and the two hit it off thereafter. They even walked together on the green carpet of the IIFA awards ceremony. Sharing what her conversation with Andre was all about, Sophie said: "Peter was talking about his kids all the time. He said how much he loved them. he fondly recalled about Katie (Katie Price - Andre's estranged wife) too." Even Andre refuted any rumours of a relationship with Sophie, who has featured in films like "Pyaar Ke Side Effects" and "Aggar". "I know looking at my pictures with Sophie Chaudhary at the red (green) carpet at the recent award function, people jumped to the conclusion that I was dating her. But it is not true. I was honoured to be in her company. But I hardly know her at all, " Andre was quoted as saying in a press release.

Sophie’s close encounter with LTTE

On Saturday Sophie was in Colombo for a show, it was the same day when LTTE had managed an air strike in Colombo. Sophie was really lucky and even managed to escape unhurt. When contacted Sophie she exclaimed” I really escaped the attacks and am really petrified by the whole incident now.” Sources close to her adds, ” The dancers for the show were stuck at the airport, and when the whole crew was going to check out from the airport suddenly news came in that LTTE had dealt out two big Air Strikes On Colombo near the airport terminal and there after firing began near the airport. The whole dance crew was taken to the basement and there was a huge power cut that took place which lasted around an hour. It’s so scary Sophie couldn’t believe it. Usually they always travel together. Sophie had to go to Jaipur with some work so Sophie boarded a plane from Jaipur and the crew boarded from Mumbai we were on different flights. That’s why Sophie reached Colombo early and was safe. Sophie was constantly in touch with the whole crew updating them about the happenings and also trying to keep them calm and composed. The whole crew escaped the incident unhurt and returned back to Mumbai the next day itself. Sophie recollects, ” The whole experience as a big shock to her.”

Singer-actress Sophie Chaudhary is working with Suniel Shetty in Inder Kumar's comic caper "Daddy Cool" and says her co-star feels she is like Oscar award-winning actress Goldie Hawn. "Suniel calls me the Goldie Hawn of India. He says, like her, even I am very sexy, cute and funny, " Sophie told in an interview. Sophie, who was recently in the capital to perform at a New Year's Eve function, started her career as a pop singer with the girl band "Sansara", but gained popularity as an MTV VJ. After her stint on television, Sophie moved to the big screen and featured in films like "Pyaar Ke Side Effects" and "Aggar". "Singing is my biggest passion, but being a VJ gave me a big name in India when I shifted base to Mumbai from London. Being a VJ is great fun. It's a wonderful job for youngsters. It gives you exposure - when you travel, you gain confidence and you also earn a fan following. But it's not a career you can have for life, " said Sophie. "I enjoy singing and acting, so I took it up. As a singer I enjoy my stage shows, acting is a new challenge for me. It's exciting, great fun and you wake up as a different person every day, " she added. Sophie, who is trying to get a foothold in the film industry, was recently seen in an item number in Sanjay Dutt starrer "Kidnap". But she is not afraid of being typecast as an item girl. "The song I did in 'Kidnap' was my first item number, so I've no fear of being typecast. I did that because I can't say no to either Sanjay Dutt or Sanjay Gadhvi (director of 'Kidnap'). I guess my biggest gain from the song was a compliment from Farah Khan. She doesn't compliment anyone, but she came up to me and said that I look insanely hot in the film, " said Sophie. Speaking on the year gone by, Sophie says the highlight was her shoot with her idol, Rishi Kapoor. "I got an opportunity to do a song and a few scenes with him in a Bobby Bedi film, which is slated to release in 2009. The whole experience was wonderful, " said a delighted Sophie. The singer-VJ-actress is looking forward to a brighter New Year with her upcoming projects that include "Daddy Cool", "Aa Dekhein Zara" with Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bipasha Basu and Sanjay Gupta's multi-starrer "Alibaug".
