Runway skids off-track

Shamir Tandon is best remembered for his soundtrack for Page 3 and Corporate with hit songs like Kitne Ajeeb and O Sikandar, respectively.

The composer surpasses your expectations with Runway which has a few gems and is his most consistent, commercially appealing album so far.

Khuda kay Liye is a soft and soothing number rendered beautifully by Mustafa Zahid of Tera Mera Rishta and Toh Phir Aao (of Aawarapan fame). KKL is a lovely opening track with a fitting, foot tapping remix that is reminiscent of Mahesh Bhatt movies.

Teri Yaadein Dil Mein Leke is an upbeat romantic number which opens with guitar notes. Kay Kay is zestful, as usual. It’s a pleasant track but nothing different. The remix is alright.

Pyaasi Machuriya is the mandatory item number rendered lustfully by the versatile Sunidhi Chauhan. Shamir is the guy who composed the popular Kua Maa Doob Jaaoo from Page 3 and this is very similar to it, including the lyrics. This is a song that will appeal only to truck drivers and you might hear it at a dhaba on a highway. The others please fast forward.

Roshan Dil Ki Jahan is another romantic offering from Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan. It’s sweet, lively and danceable. Anand Raaj Anand features on the upbeat remix

The album actually has only four songs as the other three are remixes. We thinks Khuda Kay Liye is the best of the lot.
