On a recent ferry trip from Powell River to Texada Island, the BC Ferry was flying all of her colourful flags.
The occasion was Van Anda Days, a community celebration focusing on the island's history.
We went up to the sun deck where we could hear the flags snapping in the breeze.
If you come to Powell River, you need to take the ferry over to Texada. There are beaches, hikes, quaint villages, and friendly people everywhere you go. If you travel by boat, check out the Texada Island Marina at Marble Bay. If you fly, the Texada Island Airport has a great campground. There's something for everyone on this island paradise. -- Margy
