Runway to the Night Sky

There's something special about camping under the open sky at a small airport. As the heavens begin to darken, the white runway and blue taxiway lights twinkle on. They look like strings of jewels. Even the windsock gets its own illumination once the sun goes down.

Last week we camped at Chehalis/Centralia Airport in Washington State.

A twilight stroll around the tarmac gave us dynamite views of airplanes washed in the glow of the rising moon. -- Margy
